so if you love me, why'd you let me go?

that was my initial reaction hearing coldplay's very much anticipated single off of their new album, "Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends," entitled "Violent Hill." the track is available for free download from coldplay.com but you can get it here first courtesy of me. they said they were going to bring something new, and they deliver. transition of the track is something serious, and imagery in the lyrics is vivid.

I don't want to be a soldier
with the captain of some sinking ship
with snow, down below

so if you love me
why'd you let me go?

i took my love down to violet hill
there we sat in snow
all that time she was silent still

so if you love me
won't you let me know?

i haven't been this hyped for a new album since Graduation by Kanye West. they've been consistent with their craft, so i'm not worried about them not coming through.

and in case you're wondering about the beautiful album art:

The album's artwork features the classic painting Liberty Leading the People (La Liberté guidant le peuple) by French painter Eugène Delacroix commemorating the July Revolution of 1830. It is currently on display in The Louvre in Paris.

the Statue of Liberty in New York is derived from the very posture of the original painting. sick album cover. hopefully the inside is just as good as the outside, if not better.
